Thursday, January 10, 2019

TUI continues to expand its partnerships in China. In the framework of an event in Munich showcasing China’s Shandong province, TUI Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding for a strategic cooperation with the province. The MoU was signed by Dr Guido Brettschneider, CEO TUI China, and Zhang Mingchi, Deputy Director General of Shandong province, in the presence of Gong Zheng, Governor of Shandong province, Mao Jingqiu, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Munich, and Gabriele Fink, Head of the Basic Policy Issues Tourism Division in the Bavarian Ministry for Economic Affairs, Energy and Technology. With around 100 million inhabitants, Shandong is one of the largest provinces in the People’s Republic of China, located between Beijing and Shanghai. The province is famous for being the birthplace of the philosopher Confucius and home to Tsingtao beer, known around the world. Dr Guido Brettschneider: “Alongside a wide range of attractions related to the scholar Confucius and the famous beer, Shandong also offers German architecture and long coasts with beautiful sandy beaches. TUI is planning to take more customers to Shandong, both through our tour operators and on board our cruise ships.“
