China is an ancient country, blessed with an abundance of ageless tourist attractions from times gone by, such as the Great Wall and Forbidden City. In recent times however, a technology boom has seen another side of China come to the forefront… a modern, cutting-edge world of skyscrapers and machinery that somehow manages to blend seamlessly into the age-old world that existed before it.

Travel Itinerary

  • Day 1:
    Beijing lunch, dinner incl.
    • Arrival at Beijing airport and transfer to the Regent Beijing Hotel
    • Lunch at a local restaurant
    • Visit the Temple of Heaven. These are the beautiful grounds where Ming and Qing Emperors once went to pay homage to Heaven and pray for good harvests. The central building is 36m tall and constructed entirely of wood using no nails.
    • Welcome Dinner (Beijing Roast Duck at Quanjude Restaurant)
  • Day 2:
    Beijing breakfast, lunch, dinner incl.
    • Great Wall at Badaling, one of the most popular sites to visit the Great Wall. See this incredible feat of human achievement in all its glory as it winds its way through the stunning mountains at Badaling.
    • Lunch at a local restaurant
    • Tour of the Forbidden City. Soak up the history of 500 years of Chinese Emperors and their households.
    • Visit Tian’anmen Square. Tiananmen Square is a national symbol and is the third largest city square in the world. It is located directly to the south of the Forbidden City which makes for a beautiful backdrop.
    • Dinner at a local restaurant
    • Foot Massage
  • Day 3:
    Beijing - Hangzhou breakfast incl.
    • Transfer to the train station for high-speed train to Hangzhou
    • After arrival transfer to the Zhejiang Narada Grand Hotel
    • Dinner in the hotel
    • Show: Impression West Lake in the evening. A dancing and singing extravaganza performed on the surface of the World Heritage listed West Lake.
  • Day 4:
    Hangzhou breakfast, lunch incl.
    • Boat Ride on West Lake. The West Lake is the premier attraction of Hangzhou. Its glimmering waters have been an inspiration to poets and writers for a thousand years.
    • Lunch at a local restaurant
    • Visit Lingyin Temple and a tea village in the afternoon
    • Welcome Dinner in the evening

        

  • Day 5:
    Hangzhou - Shanghai breakfast, lunch incl.
    • Transfer to Fengjing Ancient City
    • Sightseeing in Fengjing Ancient City and the China Farmers’ Painting Village. Located on the outskirts of Shanghai, Fengjing Ancient City is an unspoilt water village that can make a visitor feel as though they have stepped back in time.
    • Lunch in Fengjing
    • Transfer to Shanghai in the afternoon
    • Transfer to Sheraton Hotel Hongkou for a short break
  • Day 6:
    Shanghai breakfast, lunch, dinner incl.
    • Visit Pudong in the morning (World Financial Center, Expo Park). The magnificent skyline of the Pudong area in Shanghai is a sight to behold. This ultra-modern area of the city is nearby the site of the 2010 World Expo.
    • Visit Yu Garden & Old City Center
    • Lunch at a local restaurant
    • Visit Shanghai museum, Nanjing Lu & Bund in the afternoon
    • Huangpu River Cruise in the evening. Get a unique view of the amazing, lit up Shanghai skyline from the tranquil Huangpu River at night.
  • Day 7:
    Shanghai breakfast incl.
    • Time at leisure in the morning depending upon departure time
    • Transfer to the airport by Maglev train
    • Departure from Shanghai
