State-owned Beijing Tourism Group (BTG) has announced annual revenue growth of 9.5% to CNY34.7 billion (US$5.5 billion). The group’s total assets have risen from CNY8.3 billion in 1998 to CNY35 billion in 2011, an average increase of 11.7% per year. In addition to its main tour business, BTG operations over the past decade have grown to include hotels, travel agencies, restaurants, auto leasing and services, scenic sites and real estate. The company will focus on developing hospitality operations over the next four years.

General Manager Liu Yi told the China Daily that the group will make its hotel operations more efficient and form a central reservation system for domestic and foreign tourists that can be served by its 100 travel agencies around the country.
