Emeishan, also known as Mount Emei, is the highest
of the Four Buddhist Mountains of China.
Located in Sichuan Province, it is a place of tremendous
religious and cultural significance in China and
was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996.
It has a long, spiritual history and was the location
of the first Buddhist temple built in China in the 1st
century CE. Today it’s a popular holiday destination
for tourists from all over the globe, famous for its
beautiful mountain scenery, intriguing wildlife and
fascinating religious and cultural antiquity.
